In the 1970’s, a local lawyer by the name of Bud Holmes made the decision to form Key Title and Escrow Company which grew to nearly twenty offices in Oregon, and is now part of the Fidelity and Ticor group. At that time, he made the decision to leave the practice of law. In doing so, he contacted the local judges, who suggested that William (“Bill”) Crothers would be the right guy to take over his legal work, which he did, and built a local law firm. That firm hired Greg Hansen in 1989.
Greg and Bill worked together for twenty years on Front Street in Salem, at which time Bill transitioned into retirement, and Greg moved on with his practice. Over the years, many now successful lawyers worked and trained with the new office as local law students, including Andrew Naylor, now in Clackamas County; Stephanie Carter, now in Tigard; Joshua Reams, now in Boise, Idaho; and Michael Scarbo, now in Lihue, Hawaii.
The office is now located in the recently constructed University Club Office Building within the urban renewal footprint in West Salem, near the long standing cannery complex.
